This year DA readers nominated a record number of products that have made a positive difference in their school districts.

Awareity, the leading provider of risk management and prevention solutions for education, announced its TIPS incident management platform including the innovative Awareness Vault for professional development has been selected as a 2012 District Administration Readers’ Choice Top 100 Product. With more than 1,000 nominations this year, a new record, the winners were selected by the editors of District Administration and were based upon both the quantity of nominations and the quality of reader descriptions.

The annual District Administration Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products award recognizes leaders in the education industry, and provides superintendents and other senior school district leaders with the unique opportunity to learn what products their colleagues around the country are using, and how these products contribute to the success of their districts.

“The record number of nominations we received this year was astonishing,” says District Administration’s executive editor, Odvard Egil Dyrli. “There were so many excellent recommendations from school administrators who shared how the products made significant differences in their districts, and choosing the Top 100 proved to be challenging and difficult. We are delighted to announce the honorees for 2012 and trust that the list will be a valuable resource for our readers.”

Awareity’s TIPS web‐based platform empowers students, parents, teachers, staff and others to confidentially and/or anonymously report bullying and numerous other potentially harmful student and school safety concerns. TIPS empowers the school to customize as many different Incident Types as needed so individuals are equipped to anonymously report bullying, cyberbullying, cyber drama, weapons possession, drug/alcohol use, harassment or intimidation, school vandalism, physical assault, threats of violence, bus incidents, suicide risk, abuse, neglect, truancy and other alarming trends in schools. The TIPS platform can also be utilized for employment, ethics and recognizing positive acts of kindness and respect.

TIPS is much more than just an incident reporting tool, TIPS is also a comprehensive suite of risk management tools ensuring all incident reports are tracked and documented and responded to in a proactive manner. With TIPS, district administrators can access the on‐demand incident reporting dashboard to see when reports were made, when team members received and acknowledged each incident report, and what steps were taken to investigate, intervene and follow up on the report. Team members collaborate through the central secure TIPS platform to share ongoing findings and to help connect all the right dots to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for everyone.

The ability to manage Professional Development and mandated policy, customized training, updates to processes and procedures etc. also makes the TIPS Faculty Awareness Vault increasingly valuable for school districts looking to cut costs.

“We are honored to have been recognized District Administration Magazine as a top 100 product implemented by schools across the Nation,” said Rick Shaw, CEO and President of Awareity. “Many school leaders are struggling to find both innovative and cost‐effective solutions to ensure student safety and risk management is not just a once a year event but an ongoing effort. Our clients trust in TIPS to ensure the right information gets to the right people at the right time so they can do the right things and this award acknowledges our continued dedication to prevention.”
